Summerfest Sessions with SaraBeth
Fulfilling Her Dream, One Song At A Time
SaraBeth Swagerty’s love of music was always present — whether it was Christmas carols or singing along to her great grandma’s Patsy Cline cassette tapes. But despite her passion for music, she wasn’t always confident in her singing ability.
“There was a moment where I really had some self-doubt and I thought ‘I can’t do this,’” says SaraBeth. “Anytime you uproot your entire life…to actually take that step was the first time I was actually like, ‘Alright, I’m going to give this 100% and I’m just going to do the best I can.”
After a moving to Nashville six years ago, SaraBeth has been working hard to make her dream a reality. She’s built an established fan base, scored two nationally charted singles, and toured across the UK – but it’s not without its challenges. She credits her persistence for getting her to where she is today.
“The biggest obstacle for musicians is that you’re told ‘no’ a lot,” says SaraBeth. “You just have to go back and fight and work harder and continue to improve your craft and eventually you’ll get to where you want to be.”
But with all her achievements during her years on the road, SaraBeth still has yet to cross one item off her bucket list — playing at the largest music festival in the world.
“I’ve never played Summerfest — it’s one of those pinnacle things,” says SaraBeth. “I want to get there, I want to play there, I want to see the fans.”
And when we heard her story, we knew we could help with that.[…]
